The scent of lavender is reminiscent of the south of France, where it grows abundantly in the summer months. Many years ago the Romans used lavender to make bath-essences. To extract the fragrance different lavender species will be used. The most used species is the Lavandin, a natural hybrid between the Common lavender and the Spike lavender.
