It is not clear if this plant originated in Europe, Asia, or in the Mediterranean, but it is at home nearly everywhere in the temperate zone of the northern hemisphere. Wild chive thrives on poriferous, eutrophic and humid soil and flowers from May to August. It propagates through bulb and seeds.
