The Christmas cactus belongs to the plant family of the cactus. It is native in the coastal mountains of south-eastern Brazil. It received its name due to the fact that it blooms around Christmas. After successful pollination, the Christmas cactus gets fruits. These need several weeks to months to mature. When they are mature, they shrivel and turn reddish.
